Iran’s Physical Education Chief Back Home
Heading a sports delegation, the PEO boss met ranking sports and cultural officials of Russia and visited the facilities of that country.
He exchanged views with Russia’s Minister of Culture Mikhail Shvidkoy Thursday. Both sides called for bolstering bilateral ties in cultural and athletic fields.
Mehralizadeh paid a visit to the Moscow-based Sports College on October 9. He was briefed by Russian officials on different departments of the faculty including the Specialized Sports Medicine Department.
The professors voiced their satisfaction with the presence of Iranian students in their college, expressing hope the issue would help the two countries expand their cultural and sports relations.
Mehralizadeh, who is also the vice-president emphasized on studying the ways for boosting of cooperation with the Russian college.
He called for proposals of Iranian students on reinforcement of relations between Iran and Moscow's Sports College.
On Wednesday, the ranking sports official of Iran conferred with Russia's State Duma deputy chairman and Paralympic Committee deputy Vladimir Lukin. The two sides explored possible avenues for development of cultural-sports ties between Tehran and Moscow.
Mehralizadeh and Lukin expressed their pleasure over the mutual cooperation, stressing the need for expansion of relations at regional and international levels.
During their meeting, the main topic was all-out cooperation between the two countries in the sporting fields particularly wrestling.
Mehralizadeh Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding with Vyacheslav Fetsiov, head of Russia's State Sports Committee.
